General
The game is based on obtaining hits. A hit can be obtained by playing the highest card of the hit. If possible, the suit which started a hit should be revoked. The player who played the highest revoked card obtains the hit. If a trump is present the trump is higher than the suit the hit started with.

Cards
The game is played with 52 cards. The order of cards is: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.

Players
The game is played by four people. Depending on which bid is valid pairs will be formed.

Dealing
The player who is set up his/her version of Rikken on the Rockx as server will be the first dealer. Each following round the next player will deal the card (clockwise).

Bidding
Starting with the person who follows the dealer each player will bid. Those who have passed, are not allowed to bid again.

The players have the following bid options in the following order:

Rikken
Eight hits have to be won. Before the game starts the trump suit has to be announced. The person who bids ‘Rikken’ should ask an Ace he/she does not has. This ace will determine who will be the partner. The person who has the requested ace will be the partner for that round. As soon as the suit of the particular ace is played first in a hit, the ace should be played.

Rik better
Besides the fact that the trump suit is permanent (Hearts), this bid is equal to "Rikken ".

Eight alone
Like "Rikken ". However there will be no partner (pairs) and eight hits have to be achieved.

Piccolo
In this case the player has to achieve only one hit. No trump.

Nine alone
See eight alone . However 9 hits have to be achieved.

Misère
In this case the player has to achieve no hits at all. No trump.

Ten alone
See eight alone . However 10 hits have to achieved.

Eleven alone
See eight alone . However 11 hits have to be achieved.

Open misère
Like misère . However, after 3 hits the cards of the person(s) who bid this will show all their cards to the other players.

Twelve alone
See eight alone . However 12 hits have to be achieved.

Thirteen alone
See eight alone . However 13 hits have to be achieved.

Troela
Compulsory if a player has 3 aces. Like "Rikken ". However, the partner will be the missing (fourth) ace. The trump suit will be determined by the person who has the missing ace.

Schoppen mie
If everybody passes (the first time) "Schoppen mie" should be played. The purpose of this bid is to do not obtain the Queen of Space and the last hit. The first three rounds no space should be played if possible. No trump.

Score
Those who have not passed can win or lose points going to the bid. Those who obtain the required amount of hits will win the points. If not, lose the points. This way, a negative score is possible. The difference between the obtained hits and the required hits will be added or subtracted (multiplied by 2). A negative difference will be added to the score of each other player.
