EUROGAMES.

Rotterdam maakt zich op voor een evenement dat zijn weerga niet kent. De EuroGames Rotterdam worden het grootste LGBT-(lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender) sport- en cultuurevenement ooit in de Maasstad gehouden. Van 20 t/m 24 juli 2011 komen meer dan 6000 deelnemers vanuit heel Europa naar Rotterdam om te sporten, cultuur te proeven en natuurlijk kennis te maken met alles wat deze stad te bieden heeft. 26 sporten, een uitgebreid cultuurprogramma, een spetterende openingsceremonie, twee villages en conferenties met bijzondere thema’s. Uiteraard voor de deelnemers aan de 26 sporten of het uitgebreide cultuurprogramma, maar ook voor alle Rotterdammers en bezoekers die in juli 2011 naar de stad komen. About EuroGames 2011 Rotterdam: The EuroGames Rotterdam is governed by its core values: Celebrating: not only will The Games be celebrating sexual diversity, they also aim to be a global festivity; an event where everybody is welcome. Outgoing: The festival wants to stimulate visibility of different sexualities where everyone will be able to show him- or herself with pride. Not only showing yourself within the LGBT-community, but also to the outside world, starting with Rotterdam. Loving: Black, white, yellow, red, old, young, religious or non-religious, east, west, everybody should feel loved and appreciated. Outreaching: This event is not just for Rotterdam 2011; it also supports LGBT-emancipation for all of Europe. It reaches out to support the battle for LGBT-rights: the freedom of thought, the freedom of expression and the freedom to manifest who you are for everyone. Understanding: The event will promote understanding of sexual diversity but also will try to understand people who have difficulty with the subject. Emancipation starts by a mutual understanding. Respect: One word summarizes it all: Respect. Respect for every sexual preference, respect for every opinion, respect for every religion, respect for every people and respect for every person. Those values spell out the word: C O L O U R and this explains the slogan for the EuroGames 2011: Show Your COLOUR!
