Webdesign
I created my first website on June 1997 titled "My view on...". It was a personal website about various topics. Because of my graphic design background which predated the internet hype, I was very interested in learning how to create my own webdesign. So I wanted to learn HTML.
A year later I was introduced to UNIX. And soon fell in love with the VIM text editor. And since then I type all my HTML documents in VIM. I try to keep my code correct with the help of w3c's online markup validator service. And I create all images for my websites with GIMP.
Websites
- Balans (website and logo)
- This is the website of juggling group Balans. As a member of this juggling group I have designed this website in 1997. Currently I am no longer an active member of the Jugging Group and since 2005 I focus on its design. The content gets maintained by another Balans juggler.
- EWSK (website)
- This is another website that I have made and maintain since 2000, the website of my local astronomy club the "Eindhovense Weer en Sterrenkunde Kring". In 2008 this website fused with the website of the local observatory.
- Dr. A. F. Philips Sterrenwacht (website)
- I have also designed the website of my local observatory the "Dr. A. F. Philips Sterrenwacht" and maintain it since 2002. This observatory works closely together with the EWSK. And they fused their websites in 2008.
- DSE (parts of the website)
- I am also a voluntier for the Digitale Stad Eindhoven since 2001, a local free webhosting and emailprovidor. I have updated the existing DSE style to CSS. And made a lot of effort to correct the HTML. I also made preperations for the migration to a new style with a different site structure.
Logo's
- Internet FAQ Consortium (5 logo's and a banner)
- Here you can see my submission for the FAQs.org logo-contest of 2001. Unfortunatly the contest has never been closed.
- OpenH323 (logo and background)
- I designed the logo for the OpenH323 Project in 1999. This logo, together with various background images and suitable rulers, was my contribution to this wonderfull Open Source project.
- NL.Linux.org (logo and background)
- This was my submission for a logo contest of NL.Linux.org: Tux with cow spots of 1999. Unfortionatly I didn't win, but I had a lot of fun creating it.
