Astronomy
Astrophysics
I studied Astrophysics at the University of Utrecht for 3 years.
Dr. A. F. Philips Observatory
Eindhoven has a 75 year old public observatory: the Dr. A. F. Philips Observatory. I am a volunteer there and give group tours, presentations, and I have set up an Astrophysics for Kids course. I am currently learning to operate the 16" newtonian telescope of the observatory. Since 2000 I have been the webmaster for the observatory and the local astronomy club.
Equipment
I am not a real astronomer. Somehow being in the cold outside late at night looking at white dots and vague blurs does not attract me. But I like to sit in the sunlight during the day observing the closest star, our sun.
