Most persons with poor knowledge of natural sciences who I inform about molecular nanotechnology
claim this concept is technically impossible or otherwise are totally uninterested. Persons with a scientific background admit that nanotechnology is technically very possible but mostly assume that it will still take a very long time to be realized. I am convinced that we can, and probably will, realize this technology in a short time. Not within some hundred years but within several decades.
Why is this technology so important ?
Because the consequences of realizing this technology will totally transform our society in every aspect.
An enormous revolution is destined to arrive. A revolution which can only be compared with the industrial revolution. Or the changes to the human society generated by the discovery of fire or introduction of agriculture. And this all is likely to happen within several decades.
This is no fantasy. Nanotechnology does not violate any law according to the current natural scientific theories, it does however challenge our capability to visualize the potential technical possibilities which are
within these. This is the reason why so many think that nanotechnology is science fiction. However, it looks almost inevitable that this technology will be reality not to long from now!
